Second International University Students Photography Art Exhibition
Qilu---the hometown of Confucius and Mo-tse, is the cradle of pinhole imaging. 2300 years ago, Mo-tse, who was called forefather of theory and practice of optics, the first person who employed the theory of lights and images, explored pinhole imaging. In 1930s, the Frenchmen, Louis-Jacques-Mande Daguerre, invented the first camera according to the optics theory of pinhole imaging…
Since 1980s, the photographers on the ground of Qilu have been pushing the development of photography forward. They organized many influential events, like “International Peace Year---National Youth Photographic Competition”, “National Top Ten Youth Photographers Competition”, “China Confucius Culture Photography Exhibition”, “China Jinan Contemporary International Photography Biennial”, “International University Students Photography Art Exhibition”, “Qilu International Photography Week”, “International Academic Symposium on Mo-tse Pinhole Imaging”, etc.. All of the events played an important role in the world.
We will hold “2008 China Jinan Contemporary International Photography Biennial”, “2nd International University Students Photography Art Exhibition”, “2nd Qilu International Photography Week” and “2nd World Photographers Focusing on Qilu International Photography Week Competition” here in 12, Oct, 2008. During the period of these events, the leaders and photographers and masters of many international and national photographic associations will be here. They are FIAP, PPA, PSA, UPI, WPU, etc.. Exhibitions with different styles and trends will be held during the period of the events. The exhibitions will present the works from more than 30 photographers and university students all over the world. Reporters from FIAP official magazine and CCTV, more than 100 media will gather in the ground of Qilu, and report these great events.
