天津美术学院摄影专业方向于2004年开始正式招生,2005年成立摄影艺术系。2017年被评为天津市优势特色专业。摄影艺术系依托美术学院艺术积淀丰厚的优势,结合国际高等摄影教育现状和发展趋势,充分利用实验艺术学院这一多专业融合的环境,为学科交叉和跨专业学习发展提供有力保障。
摄影专业人才培养本着“独立”“开放”“可塑”原则:以科技媒体时代摄影的存在与发展为前提,以宽厚的人文精神,理性的思考方式和科学的实验方法为基础,以为摄影领域不断变化和发展注入活力为目标。专业注重对摄影传统的继承和摄影精神的养成,注重引导学生具有开拓和延展性思维。秉承以思考方式推动技术语言应用,以社会文化、艺术解读带动图像实验与创作。
摄影专业始终保持开放性地对话,近些年多次策划举办系列学术活动,聘请国内外专家、学者进行讲座交流等。师生积极参与国内外各种学术、展览活动,并取得丰硕成果。在不断提升专业影响力同时,更重要的是形成研究与创作的自觉,能够真正参与到当代围绕摄影、图像、影像等展开的实践中。

Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts began to enroll students for photography in 2004, and the Department of Photography was established in 2005. In 2017, he was rated as a specialty with advantages in Tianjin. The Department of Photographic Art relies on the rich artistic accumulation of the Academy of Fine Arts, combined with the current status and development trend of international higher photography education, and makes full use of the multi-disciplinary environment of the Experimental Art Academy to provide a strong guarantee for interdisciplinary and inter-professional learning and development.
The cultivation of photography professionals is based on the principles of "independence", "openness" and "plasticity": based on the existence and development of photography in the age of technology media, based on a generous humanistic spirit, rational thinking and scientific experimental methods, it is the field of photography Constant change and development inject vitality as the goal. The major focuses on the inheritance of photography tradition and the cultivation of photography spirit, and focuses on guiding students to have a pioneering and extensible thinking. Adhering to the use of thinking to promote the application of technical language, social culture and artistic interpretation drive image experimentation and creation.

The photography major has always maintained an open dialogue. In recent years, a series of academic activities have been planned and organized, and domestic and foreign experts and scholars have been invited to conduct lectures and exchanges. Teachers and students actively participate in various academic and exhibition activities at home and abroad, and have achieved fruitful results. While continuously improving the professional influence, it is more important to form the consciousness of research and creation, and be able to truly participate in contemporary practice around photography, images, and video.
